Since this is the ANYTHING section, I wanted to post and let anyone who might be interested/concerned that I am now the father of a beautiful little girl. Hence my absence over the past week or so.

I saw that topic in the News section, about some big announcement, Tank or BI wanna PM me when it comes out, since I don't know how often I'll be able to check in here?

Oh, and Tank, my OITS membership form should be in the mail shortly...

Trevelyan,

You may not read this for a day or two, but I want to say congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I hope both Mom and daughter are fine, give them both a hug for their 'ol uncle Dan.

I have one daughter and they are truly a gift for a father. All frilly and feminine, they follow you around asking inane questions until they get older (ten or so) then you have to walk ten paces behind them like you are the footman for the royal couch.

You know what they say:

A son is a son till he takes a wife,
but a daughter is a daughter the rest of your life.

Hey Trev, congrats to both you and the now somewhat littler lady. (:^D) My wife and I are are four weeks behind you, so we still have the last couple of laps to go.

Just think: two years from now, you'll be back to getting a full six hours of sleep a night!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Trev!!

Having experienced that joy a couple of times some years back, I can well imagine your excitement and pride.

Have you selected a name yet? (It had better not be "Acadia", as I believe TemplarScribe and Mrs. Scribe already have first dibs on that).

All the best,

D'Arcy

Thank you all. I am indeed completely enamoured of my little girl (and her mother, of course :) )

D'Arcy, while we didn't go with Acadia, you were close, we chose Katie (actually Katherine, but Katie for short).

I look forward to every moment I get to spend with her, though a little less so during the fussing and crying ;) And I hope to someday soon regale her with all the tales of Oak Island, including whatever this mysterious 'big news' turns out to be.

Oh, now, this IS scary:

My wife had a dear aunt she wanted to name a daughter after. The aunt's name? Katie.

I suggested "Acadia" as the longer version of Katie, and to honor this mysterious, wondrous land of which I've heard so much.

Katie and Katie. Heh! Go figure!
