I'll be taking my camera...so assuming people show up, you can see for yourselves!

I thought it would be good to get some shots of the pub too, given it's history.

Jo,

Bring your pictures with you and show them around at EOIDs. I want to see them too.

I'll post them here and try and squeeze hard copies into my backpack for EOID for anyone who might be interested.

Last year I recall a wide selection of books that people had loaned for the weekend. Assuming I have room, do you want me to bring the book where I first learned of Oak Island? (It contains this picture: http://www.oakislandtreasure.co.uk/legend_diag.htm)

The Ballad of Captain kidd.

Postby Cerris on Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:03 pm

Hi Jo, what is the history of the pub, we are interested in anything appertaining to Captain Kidd includeing the area where he was executed twice, the rope broke the first time. There was no divine intervention for the poor s*d, too many pi**ed off vip's for that, still he had the last laugh, his secret died with him.

If anyone local can bring along a guitar my friend Kevin is a folksinger who you might persuade to sing you an authentic eighteenth century sea shanty called "The Ballad of Captain Kidd."

I will tell you of three hundred year old poem that could only have been penned by someone close to Kidd at the time, it mentions the location of his treasure on an unknown isle I believe we all know as Oak Island.
